Meet Nurse Coral

Aesthetics Nurse Prescriber

Tell us about yourself!

Hi, I'm Coral and the owner of Coral Aesthetics. I am a midwife by background and have spent a good part of the last 8 years delivering babies within the NHS and private hospitals.  I now do aesthetics full time since 2019 and although I enjoyed working as a midwife, cosmetics is my true passion!

What made you venture into the world of aesthetics?

I've always loved beauty and having treatments that not only make you look good but ultimately make you feel good. After having treatments myself that have positively impacted my confidence, I wanted to bring that same experience to people. I was a beauty therapist when I was 17 and ironically facials were my least favourite treatment to do. Now I absolutely love doing medical facials and chemical peels. As a medical professional, setting up my own cosmetic business has been a huge challenge but one that I am embracing wholeheartedly.

What is your favourite treatment to have?

My favourite treatment to personally have is anti-wrinkle injections. I love how my makeup sits after treatment and it makes a huge difference to my uneven brows, which is something I have always been self-conscious about.

What is your favourite treatment to carry out?

I really enjoy doing lip filler and this is one of my favourite treatments to carry out. I've spent the last 5 years developing techniques to create soft, natural looking lips with dermal fillers. This is what my clients have come to know me for and it is one of my most requested treatments.

What is different about Coral Aesthetics?

I wanted to bring high quality medical treatments with a more personalised experience to Essex. A client once said that she comes to see me because as well as being an injector  'I'm also  a normal person who is relatable'. I thought about this and realised that's exactly what I want Coral Aesthetics to be about. There is no pressure to look a certain way or conform to beauty standards, you will never come in for a facial and leave with Russian lips and I want an environment that is inclusive, non-intimidating and welcoming. No pushy sales or beauty trend treatments here! I want to support you to embrace your natural beauty and uniqueness. As both a beautician and medic I hope to bring the best of both worlds; deliver safe and effective medical treatments alongside great chitchat in a warm and welcoming environment.  You can read more about my mission statement and the Coral Aesthetics Commitment here

What qualifications and training do you have?

I am a qualified Midwife and Nurse Prescriber; this means I attended university and got my Degree in addition to studying a postgraduate course in prescribing medicines. This qualification enables me to assess, diagnose and treat patients using prescription medicine which is essential for administering anti-wrinkle injections. I completed a foundation and advanced course in facial aesthetics in addition to a number of masterclasses, mentorship and 1:1 training which I still regularly attend to keep my skills and knowledge up to date.

I also hold a Level 3 Award in Education and Training and so I deliver courses to others in aesthetic medicine. Every month I take on a qualified aesthetic practitioner as a mentee to support them in their career and I thoroughly enjoy this part of my job.

How do your clients describe you?

I love that I am able to build genuine, trusting relationships with my clients and I am grateful for that privilege. My clients have described me as knowledgeable, honest and friendly. You can see what my clients have to say about me here.
