ASYMMETRY

Facial asymmetry occurs when one side of the face differs in shape or size from the other. This is completely normal and most people do not have a symmetrical face. Whether due to genetics, injury, or ageing, non-invasive treatments like dermal fillers or Botox can address these concerns, creating a more balanced and harmonious facial appearance. We should never aim for perfect symmetry (partially because it doesn't exist) and should also embrace the subtle differences that make us uniquely us.

At Coral Aesthetics, we offer advanced treatments to restore symmetry to the face. We also offer a holistic full-face approach, combining various treatments to ensure natural and balanced results. With the expertise of our NMC-registered Nurse Prescriber, Coral, you can trust that your facial aesthetics journey will be safe, personalised, and effective. Book your consultation today at our clinics across London, Essex, and Kent.

What Causes Facial Asymmetry?

Facial asymmetry refers to the natural imbalance or unevenness between the two sides of the face.

This can result from genetic factors, facial trauma, or conditions like Bell’s palsy. Asymmetry can also develop with age, as the distribution of fat and muscle tone in the face changes. Everyone will have some degree of facial asymmetry and more of us are noticing this due to the rise of working from home and using Zoom for meetings. A common complaint is uneven eyebrows, which more often than not can be corrected with makeup - either temporary or semi-permanent. There are always options to consider that do not involve injectable aesthetic treatments, and our Nurse will always provide you with a balanced, holistic oversight for treatment options.

How Can Facial Asymmetry Be Treated?

Facial asymmetry cannot be entirely corrected, however we do have treatment options. Dermal fillers are a versatile and effective treatment for rebuilding volume and structure in the face, offering a non-surgical solution to address facial asymmetry. These fillers can be strategically injected into areas like the cheeks, temples, and nasolabial folds, enhancing facial contours and balance.

In addition to this, Botox can be used to address facial asymmetry. Asymmetry in the face is common, whether it’s due to genetics, muscle imbalances, or the natural ageing process. Botox works by temporarily relaxing the muscles responsible for these imbalances. For example, Botox can be injected into the brow muscles to lift one side of the eyebrows or smooth uneven wrinkles caused by overactive muscles. This provides a more balanced and harmonious appearance, enhancing facial symmetry and giving a more refreshed look overall.

When combined, dermal fillers and Botox can work in tandem to provide a comprehensive facial rejuvenation treatment. At Coral Aesthetics, we customise each treatment to the individual, ensuring results that are tailored to your unique facial features. Whether you're looking to address volume loss or facial asymmetry, our skilled practitioners are here to help you achieve the most natural and effective results.
